Awesome!
I finally finished my first letter...woot woot!
I finished the letter "A" and started on the letter "B."
I gave up on the letter "N" and a dead middle start (after the 7th attempt and multiple froggings) and decided to just start at the beginning...and that was the right decision.
I am still stitching in a 9 x 3 pattern, on 25 ct Oatmeal Floba using the charted floss, however I see what many of you wise gals have noted about the letter colors being a bit too dark, but I went with the charting anyway...and now, I am not so sure about the color of the letter "A," as it is really hard to see, but I hate to rip-it since the 1 x 1 makes it really hard to remove.
Any thoughts on what you would do would be so appreciated.
Once I got my groove, I am really enjoying this WIP, and I looove the Floba fabric...it's such a dream to stitch on.
I can't wait to pick it up and stitch each day.

I love it! I hate to tell you this though (but you asked for our thoughts)....I can't see the 'A' at all. I didn't even know there was supposed to be an 'A' there until I kept reading. I'm sorry! I don't mean to be a downer!

Beautiful work!
I understand your pain though, Ma. Maybe you could do another block with a different color and see what you think.
I am not stitching over 1, I am stitching over 2 on 40 ct. I also stitched the A as charted and hate the A because it isn't very visible. I didn't want to frog it either, and so I left it, thinking I would just move on and see if I couldn't reconcile myself to it. Surprisingly, I am now on I and I can quite easily handle the A. In the grand scheme of things it doesn't garner much attention. You will find that this piece gets busy very quickly and that unless you point it out, not many people will even notice the A is too dark. Now, what you need to do is find a substitute for any other letters that are too dark. I chose 304 for the red letters and seeing as I don't like the browny red charted I switched the other reds to 815. I even did that for the cute little crab in A. That's my vote. :-) Your A block looks lovely.
Thanks all :)
I appreciate you thoughts and advice.
McKenna...I agree with you, my dear, so no worries ;) and I appreciate your honesty.
Teresa...Great idea.
Alice..hmmm...I may follow your lead and just do the same.
Again...I thank you for your honest opinions...and we'll see how long the color of the "A" takes to either drive me nuts or just stop bothering me...LOL.
